How do you nowcast convection? What is your step-by-step process? The Convection Working Group (CWG) has been working on a guide that gives an overview of available products for monitoring convection in its different phases: 1) Pre-convective environment, 2) Convective Initiation and 3) Mature Convection.
The guide aims to bring satellite products, which are important for monitoring convection, closer to forecasters. It is a small, but important, step to bridge the gap between research and operations.
