The yearly EWGLAM/SRNWP Meeting brings together the developers of European limited area numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and provides an excellent opportunity for the information exchange between the six modelling consortia (ALADIN, COSMO, HIRLAM, LACE, SEECOP, UKMO). The event is organized by the C-SRNWP Programme of EUMETNET and its Expert Teams. During the meeting all aspects of NWP model development (data assimilation, ensemble predication, applications etc..) are tackled in plenary sessions. C-SRNWP Expert Teams are also organizing parallel session where certain topics are discussed in more details.
The meeting will be held at ECWMF headquarters in Reading, UK.

The EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference is a forum that brings together meteorologists, scientists and researchers from around the world to share their experience and knowledge during plenary, poster and workshop sessions. In addition to the perennial cornerstone themes of weather, ocean and climate observations, the 2017 conference will offer an excellent opportunity to discuss how satellite data can support operational hydrology and water resources management.

The aim of this Workshop is to bring together the participants in the EUMETNET SRNWP EPS Phase II project as well as scientists working in the field to present and discuss the status of the work carried out in the project so far, and enable to define the work during the last year of the project. On one hand, the methods developed in the project for 1) calibration of ensembles and 2) products for probabilistic prediction of thunderstorms and fog will be presented. On the other hand, the first results of the coordinated research tasks on the probabilistic prediction of the same phenomena with respect to soil/surface and PBL perturbations will be shown and discussed.
