Funding of EIG EUMETNET and its internal Programmes
EIG EUMETNET derives the vast majority of its funding from the contributions and the subscription fees of its Members. Each Member pays a share of the collective cost where their share is calculated based upon the Gross National Income (GNI) for their country. Additionally the number of Programmes a Member participates in will affect the size of their contribution. The following diagram shows the 2011 funding from Members.

Funding of 3rd party Programmes
EIG EUMETNET also participates in projects with 3rd Parties. Most often these projects are likely to be with the European Commission (for example through the Research Framework Programme). Where co-financing of the projects is required, such projects will normally be co-financed by those EUMETNET Members engaged in the project. Activities of Members in these projects, unlike the funding for EUMETNET itself, will usually be co-financed by participating Members based upon the real costs of their individual activities in the project.
