EMMA (European Multi-services Meteorological Awareness)

In the framework of the EMMA Program the website www.meteoalarm.eu has been developed to provide the most relevant information needed to prepare for extreme weather over Europe.

  • www.meteoalarm.eu offers the option of selecting severe weather information for today or tomorrow for more than 30 European countries. The system is rapidly growing and expanding to other parts of Europe.
  • On a first level a European overview is given, if further details on national warnings are needed, a click to the nation in question shows national and regional warning levels. For most countries texts are provided on the regional level.
  • Direct links lead through the logos to the relevant National Weather Service.
  • www.meteoalarm.eu is the website that integrates all important severe weather information issued and originating from the official National Public Weather Services. This information is presented consistently to ensure coherent interpretation as widely as possible throughout Europe.
  • For the near future RSS feeds for a more active distribution of the information is planned.
The Responsible Member is ZAMG, further information can be obtained from the Program Manager:
